1: Have Fun
When
joining Dogs of War =DOW= you agree to one thing – to
have fun. We play games for fun, and a clan is nothing but
an extension of this. DOW is basically a bunch of guys who
enjoy getting together for a pub game or scrim.
So
before we get into any of the other stuff – remember
to have fun, and also remember – ITS JUST A GAME.

Section
2: Behavior
Having
read the above, behavior of DOW members is a natural extension
of this.
Swearing / Abuse –
We
know it happens and let’s face it – everybody
does it. While it’s acceptable to let a bit of language
go in Ventrilo while having a game (while either having a
joke with other members or the natural frustration that everyone
suffers at some point), we expect all members to behave in
a civil manner in when it comes to other clans and individuals
they play against – that means keeping public chat clean
of any abuse / language. While on this subject, any excessive
attacks by any member of DOW against either another member
or an outside player will not be tolerated. Members who go
about abusing other members of the gaming community reflect
badly on the clan as a whole and can ruin the online gaming
experience for everyone. Any member who is found to be abusing
other players (members or not) will be dealt with severely.
Rank
& Identification –
DOW
uses a ranking structure so that the clan can have a working
chain of command. The ranking structure also allows new recruits
to identify key members in regards to Division Commanding
Officers (CO’s) and Supreme Command (SC) members. Low
ranking members are to be respectful of those with higher
rank, as higher ranking members are DOW veterans and have
earned their rank with hard work and commitment to the clan.
DOW members will rarely give orders, but when they are issued,
members are to follow the orders of their Commanders to the
best of their ability. If you feel that there are issues that
need to be raised with the higher ranking members (namely
the Officers and SC), then send a personal message to an Officer
who will raise the issue with SC. All issues raised with be
handled confidetialy and will be investigated and treated
seriously.
Comms
(Ventrilo) Usage –
DOW
supplies a Ventrilo Comms server for free use by its members
– the server is a privilege and should not be abused
and / or taken for granted.
When
using the comms server members:
•
will conduct themselves in a manner that reflects well on
the clan as a whole. This means no needless transmissions
- e.g. farting, burping, screaming, other bodily functions
and sound effects, etc.
• will not “spam” the Vent channels unless
they’re in the coffee room or another appropriate room.
The game channels are not for random noises or unrelated conversation
– they’re for use by members playing the designated
games.
We provide this server so that members can have fun gaming
together, not annoy the hell out of a group of guys trying
to have a game. If you are asked to leave a channel because
you are not playing, either join in the game or respect their
request. In summary – know when to shut-up.
Ventrilo
and Forum Access –
Ventrilo access passwords are for DOW MEMBERS ONLY, unless
specified by SC. Any members giving out passwords to private
channels will be dealt with harshly. Forum access is granted
only to new recruits once they are accepted into the clan.
The code of conduct applies to the forums in the same way
it does to in game and comms server behavior – respect
the other members of DOW.

3: Recruitment & DOW Tags
To
start with, the 16+ age limit can be bent at the discretion
of SC, but the recruit in question must show themselves to
be capable of acting in a mature way. Again – this is
purely at the discretion of SC. All DOW members enter the
clan in the same way. Just because you’re friends with
a possible recruit, DOES NOT MEAN they will get a backdoor
entry to the clan. Before any recruit can apply the DOW tags
to their name in either Ventrilo or in-game, they must talk
to a proper recruitment officer and have their Forum account
activated. At no time is a player who is not a member of DOW
to wear the =DOW= tags either in game or in Ventrilo –
“Slutting” for DOW is not permitted at any time,
either in a friendly match or a scrim. If the match is friendly
there is no need for the player to wear DOW tags in the first
place.
Players
can only wear =DOW= tags if:
•
They are registered members
• They have been approved by a recruitment officer
Only
Recruitment Officers and SC have the authority to tell members
to wear DOW tags. Any members giving possible recruits permission
to apply DOW Tags is acting out of line and will be dealt
with by SC.

Section
4: Cheating
Cheating
is not tolerated in DOW. End of story. ANY use of cheats,
unfair exploits or hacks by DOW members is punishable by removal
from the clan after a review of the facts by SC. DOW members
take a zero tolerance position towards cheaters and hackers.
If a member of DOW suspects another member of cheating, they
are to refer their suspicions (with any relevant proof) to
the offenders Division CO. They should NOT confront the cheater
in any way. The issue will be dealt with seriously.

Section
5: General Overview
•
DOW members have preference over “sluts” or fill
in players who are not registered members of DOW.
• EVERYONE GETS A GAME – regardless of skill level.
We’re here to have fun.
• There is no “rating” or open “judging”
of members skill levels. e.g. members of DOW are not to openly
rank their division members based on skill. A member’s
level of skill is placed second to their personality.
• DOW members will not discriminate against other members
based on gender, race, religious beliefs, nationality and
so on. Discrimination within DOW is not accepted and will
be seriously dealt with by SC.
